Marilyn Kay Walther, 76, passed away on June 26, 2017, in Ajijic, Mexico.
Marilyn was born on May 3, 1941, in Custer, Ohio, to Bruce and Glenora Dermer.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survived by the “love of her life” husband of over 60 years, Lowell D. Walther; children, Jean (Richard), June, John (Christine) and Kay (Rick); and 11 grandchildren.
Marilyn earned her Bachelor’s Master’s, and Specialist degrees from Bowling Green State University.
She taught for two years at Ottawa-Glandorf High School and then went on to work with the Northwest Ohio Educational Service Center. There, she led the development and implementation of the gifted and talented programs for both Henry and Fulton counties.
In addition, Marilyn collaborated and volunteered with state, national, and world competition of “Odyssey of The Mind” and “Destination Imagination.”
Marilyn was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Stryker.
A celebration of life will be held at Fairlawn Chapel, Archbold, on July 8, 2017, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
