Kyle D. Stipp, 21, Wauseon, refused medical treatment after he was involved in a car-train mishap about 7:45 pm, Tuesday, Jan. 17, an Archbold police report states.
The report states a Norfolk Southern crew was backing rail cars south across the West Barre Road crossing.
Stipp, driving a car west on West Barre Road, collided with the first rail car, striking it in the middle.
The report states the train pushed Stipp’s car south, from the westbound lane into the eastbound lane, before it stopped.
Officers cited Stipp for driving across a grade crossing when a train was approaching, noting that a NS flagman had cleared the roadway before the train began moving.
Stipp also was cited for not wearing a seat belt.
