Man Leaves Scene, Cited After Crash

Michael J. Quimby, 30, Archbold, has been cited with three traffic charges after his pickup truck struck a building about 11:55 pm, Saturday, Nov. 24.

Quimby was charged with being in physical control of a motor vehicle while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident, and operating without reasonable control.

The police report states Quimby was driving the pickup east on East Mechanic Street when the vehicle went off the left, or north side of the road. It struck the former Leininger Truck Service building, which is on the northeast corner of the East Mechanic Street-South Defi- ance Street intersection.

The report states Quimby tried unsuccessfully to move the pickup. When the effort failed, he left the scene.

Martin Schmidt, Archbold police chief, said officers tracked him down the following day.

The report states Quimby suffered non-incapacitating injuries.
