Man Guilty Of Assaulting Deputy

Joshua Hinkle, 33, Wauseon, was found guilty of assault of a peace officer in Fulton County Common Pleas Court following a 1 1/2-day jury trial, Tuesday and Wednesday, June 11-12.

Tracey Zuver, Fulton County Sheriff Department chief deputy, said on Feb. 3, Hinkle was intoxicated at a home in the 12000 block of Co. Rd. L.

Two deputies were called to the residence after Hinkle said he wanted to go to jail.

When deputies told him they had no reason to arrest him, he reached for one of their guns.

Officers subdued him, placed him under arrest, and took him to CCNO.

A jury of six men and six women deliberated about 30 minutes before returning a guilty verdict.

Sentencing of Hinkle has been deferred, and a pre-sentence investigation, ordered.
