Joshua David Liechty, 33, rural Fayette, was arrested by Archbold police, Sunday, July 27, following an incident at the home of Melissa A. Grime, 38, 500 South St., Archbold.
At the time, he was free after posting a $500 bond after being arrested on a warrant from a felony indictment.
The police report on the incident states police were called to Grime’s home about 12:30 am, Sunday, July 27, by a third party on a report of a possible domestic.
Two officers arrived on the scene. One reported seeing both Liechty and Grime inside the residence through a window.
Officers were unable to get anyone to answer the door, but one officer talked to Grime through a window.
The report states Grime met the officers outside, where she told officers Liechty was hiding in an upstairs bedroom.
After determining that a protection order was in effect, officers entered the home with Grime’s permission.
“A search of the residence was conducted and the suspect was found hiding in a room upstairs,” the report said.
“Further investigation also revealed a physical altercation took place between the victim and suspect. Visible marks could be seen on the victim’s neck.
“The suspect was arrested for domestic violence, obstructing official business, and violation of a protection order.”
Liechty was taken to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio, where, as of Sunday night, Aug. 3, he was still being held on a $25,000 cash bond.
