Lucille Ann (Frey) Nofziger, of Archbold, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 14, 2012.
Born near Archbold on Sept. 25, 1914, she was the second child of Luke and Lavina (Wyse) Frey.
Her sister Shirley Wyse survives.
Siblings preceding her in death were Ernest, Maurice (Mose) and Dorothy Waldeck.
Lucille was married to Roy E. Nofziger on July 22, 1934. They were blessed with four children, Jueldine (Lowell) Rupp of Archbold and Lake Wales, Fla., Rodney (Sandra Fielitz) of Pettisville, Terry-deceased (Mary Helen Liechtydeceased) (Jan Short Cobb of Pettisville), and Jeanne (Mark) Birky of Hopedale, Ill., and grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
Lucille and Roy made their home on a farm near Pettisville, where they enjoyed a farming operation. Later they purchased Pettisville Grain Company, Pettisville.
They were faithful members of West Clinton Mennonite Church, and in 1957 they became charter members of North Clinton Mennonite Church in Wauseon.
Lucille was active in the ladies sewing circle, taught Sunday school and Bible school, and with her husband served as youth group sponsors for many years.
They enjoyed traveling in the United States and abroad.
Their home was always a welcoming place. From 1975 to 1993 they spent their winters in Lake Wales, Fla. In 1993 they moved to the independent unit of Fairlawn Haven.
Roy passed away while there in 2001 and Lucille continued living in their home until her passing. Her entire life was a wonderful example of love and contentment.
The family wishes to thank all who showed love and support during this time of loss.
A service in celebration of Lucille’s life will be held in Fairlawn Haven Chapel on Saturday, April 21, at 2 p.m. with visitation prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m.
Memorial contributions in memory of Lucille may be given to North Clinton Mennonite Church Education Fund or to Fairlawn Haven Building Fund.
