Local Races, Issues Set For Nov. 3 Election




Local races and issues for the Nov. 3 General Election in Fulton and Henry counties are finalized.

The official deadline for candidates to file nominating petitions at the Board of Elections offices to run for public office was Wednesday, Aug. 5, at 4 pm.

Candidates who filed and the offices they’re seeking:

Village of Archbold

Mayor: Jeff Fryman.

Village Council (vote for three): Kevin D. Eicher, Brian J. Huffman, Lisa A. Bumb, Kevin Morton.

Village of Fayette

Mayor: Ruth Marlatt, David Borer.

Village Council (vote for two): David Wheeler.

Archbold Local School District

Board of Education (vote for two): John Downey.

Fayette Local School District

Board of Education (vote for three): Kirk Keiser, Robert Brubaker.

Pettisville Local School District

Board of Education (vote for two): Brent King, Daniel Bruner.

Northwest Educational Service Center

District 1: Nona Liechty.
District 9: Thomas Gerig.

Clinton Township

Trustee: Larry Neuenschwander.

Fiscal Officer: Zachary T. Riley, Nancy J. Yackee.

Dover Township

Trustee: Larry Burkholder. Fiscal Officer: Sue Dieringer.

Franklin Township

Trustee: Michael Kinsman, Mark Ballmer.

Fiscal Officer: Joshua A. Grime.

German Township

Trustee: Kenneth Leupp.

Fiscal Officer: Keith Short.

Gorham Township

Issues

Local issues voters in Fulton and Henry counties will face:

Fulton County: 0.5-mill proposed replacement tax levy, for Health Department programs for 10 years.

Fulton County: 2-mill proposed tax levy, renewal with a 2-mill increase, for Emergency Medical Service for five years.

Fulton County: Proposed County Charter by initiative petition.

Clinton Township: Proposed 0.6-mill tax levy, renewal with 0.2 mill increase, for Fire Expenses for five years.

Gorham Township: Proposed 0.5-mill replacement tax levy for maintaining Pleasant View Union Cemetery for five years.

Village of Archbold: Proposed 3.3-mill replacement tax levy for Current Expenses for five years.

Henry County: Proposed 1.1-mill additional levy for a New Facility for five years.

Freedom Township, Henry County: Proposed 1.5-mill replacement tax levy for Repair of Roads and Bridges for five years.

Ridgeville Township, Henry County: Proposed 2-mill replacement tax levy for Roads and Bridges for five years.

Write-In Candidates

Any candidate in Fulton County who wishes to be a write-in candidate has until 4 pm, Monday, Aug. 24, to file an intent-to-be-a-write-incandidate form with the Fulton County Board of Elections and pay the $30 filing fee, said Melanie Gilders, director of the Board of Elections.

A write-in candidate does not have to gather signatures, but must only complete the one-page form and pay the filing fee.

Write-in candidates’ names do not appear on the ballot. A write-in line is available and the voter must input the person’s name.
