Local Man Receives Fraudulent Checks

Steve Stellhorn, Holland Court apartments, told Archbold Police Wednesday, Nov. 7, he received blank checks via United Parcel Service.

The Archbold Police reports said Stellhorn told officers he received the package overnight delivery. It contained five blank American Express travelers checks. There was a return address and phone number on the envelope. Stellhorn, who did not know the subject named in the return address, said he called the number. It was no longer in service.

He called American Express, who advised him the checks are fraudulent. The company told him to file a report with his local police department.
