Little League

The Archbold Little League All-Stars opened the Swanton tournament with a 13-0 five-inning victory over Evergreen.

The All-Stars scored single runs in the first and fourth innings while adding seven in the second and four runs in the third.

Jacob Wagner and Emerson Radabaugh combined to no-hit the Vikings. Wagner pitched the first three innings, allowing no runs or hits while striking out five and walking four. Radabaugh pitched the final two, striking out five of six batters.

Micah Bernath led the hitting attack with two singles and a double along with two runs batted in. Troy Flores had two singles and one RBI. Lincoln Parsley had a two RBI single. Kenny Price added a single and RBI; Evan Wyse, Levi Wyse and Luke Fisher all singled.

Archbold 16, Predators 0

In game two the All-Stars took on the Predators. A big eight-run first inning propelled the Streaks to an easy 16-0 four-inning victory.

Luke Fisher picked up the win, throwing three innings of one-hit ball and striking out three. Brodie Nofziger pitched one inning, allowing no hits and striking out one.

Bernath again was the leader at the plate, going 4-4 including two doubles and two RBIs. Fisher went 2-3 with two doubles and two RBIs. Aaron Schmucker went 3-3 with two RBIs.

L. Wyse added a bases-loaded triple. E. Wyse and Logan Day had a single and RBI each; Price added a triple and RBI.

Chandler Wyse and Radabaugh each singled.

Archbold 11, Swanton 8

In the third game, the Streaks jumped out to an 8-0 lead over Swanton and held on for an 11- 8 victory.

Bernath earned the victory, pitching three innings, allowing six runs on six hits while striking out one and walking three. C. Wyse pitched the final three innings for the save, allowing two runs on three hits while striking out one and walking three.

Bernath was 3-3 with a double. L. Wyse doubled and tripled, knocking in two runs. Radabaugh contributed a single and double; Wagner added a single.

Semifinals Archbold 8, Anthony Wayne 7

The Streaks came away with a hard-fought 8-7 victory over Anthony Wayne in the semifi- nal.

C. Wyse picked up the victory, pitching the first three innings and allowing two runs on five hits and walking two. E. Wyse pitched two innings, allowing five runs on seven hits and walking two. Bernath pitched a perfect 1-2-3 sixth inning for the save.

Bernath was 2-2 with one RBI. L. Wyse had a big basesloaded triple in the fourth and Radabaugh a two-run single. Schmucker and E. Wyse had a single and RBI each, while Nofziger added a single.

Finals Napoleon 5, Archbold 0

The Streaks met Napoleon in the finals. Archbold hung tough for five innings before giving up five runs in the sixth for a 10-0 loss.

Bernath took the tough loss, pitching three innings and giving up three runs on two hits, striking out three and walking one. Wagner pitched the final three innings, allowing seven runs on five hits, striking out four and walking four.

The Streaks went hitless against Napoleon’s dominant pitchers.
