Archbold Little League Team 1 traveled to Montpelier, Wednesday, May 28, and gave up three runs in the bottom of the sixth to drop a 9-8 heartbreaker.

Tyson Schnitkey started on the mound and pitched three innings, giving up three runs on four hits while striking out six. Evan Wyse took the toughluck loss, pitching the final three innings and giving up six runs (four earned) on three hits while striking out one and walking six.

Lead hitters were Levi Wyse, 2-2 including a double; Evan Wyse, 2-2, double, 3 runs batted in; Schnitkey, 2-3, 2 RBIs; Emmerson Radabaugh, 2-3, 1 RBI. Aron Schmucker, Troy Flores, and Kenny Price each contributed one hit.

The Streaks traveled to Wauseon, Thursday, May 29 and were defeated 10-1. The Streaks had first-time pitchers Jacob Wagner, Radabaugh, and Michael Hesterman take the mound. Wagner started and took the loss, pitching two innings and giving up four runs on two hits while striking out one and walking eight.

Radabaugh pitched two innings, giving up six runs on seven hits while striking out three and walking one. Hesterman pitched the final inning, giving up zero runs and one hit.

Price had an infield single for Archbold’s only hit. The team is 2-2 on the young season.
