Lillian Reiser is the July Resident of the Month at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home, Archbold.
She was born on Dec. 17, 1920, in Okolona, to Stephen and Callie (Eberle) Durham. She was the youngest of three.
Lillian liked music, and studied piano and violin.
After graduating from high school, she moved to Napoleon, and worked as a secretary for the credit bureau. During this time she met Lawrence Reiser through mutual friends.
They married on Aug. 30, 1942. They lived their entire lives in Napoleon, and had three daughters: Betty Moore, Janice Leatherman, and Rita Fox.
She took pride in her spotless home and was an excellent cook. She was well known for coffee cakes and large sugar cookies, and crocheted and loved to read.
The pair were members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, and she volunteered as a Gray Lady at the local hospital.
Lillian came to live at Fairlawn in April 2006.
