Library Board Selects Tile

After reviewing several samples, the Archbold Community Library Board selected a darker tile for the floor of the mens restroom at the library.

The board held a special meeting, Tuesday, Feb. 9, to review several samples submitted by Rupp Furniture, Archbold.

Those in attendance selected a tile with a darker finish that will contrast with the lighter colors in the room.

Board members were required to select a new tile after problems related to improper installation of the original tile floor surface.

Sections of tile became loose, and a large section was removed.

Only one section of the same tile in the womens restroom has come loose, and has not been seen as a serious problem.

Joyce Klingelsmith, library director, said Rupp Furniture quoted a price of $1,860.25 to replace the mens restroom floor.

The cost includes the removal of the remaining old tile floor, preparing the subfloor, and then installation of the new tile.

The work should be completed by the end of March.

Board members Leah Fruth, Laura Emch, and Cara Ulrich were absent.

The next meeting is Wednesday, March 9, 7 pm, at the library.
