Library Board Decides Against Painted Mural Due To Finances

Archbold Community Library board members agreed at their Monday evening, Oct. 20 meeting not to have a mural painted near the community room.

Necessary funds for the project are not available. The project was discussed at a previous meeting when the board agreed to have the community room hall painted.

Joyce Klingelsmith, library board director, gave the board a timetable of levy procedures for the months prior to the May 5, 2009 spring primary. The board plans to place a renewal levy on the May ballot.

Next month the board will consider a resolution to certify the levy. Klingelsmith said she is preparing information about the levy for public presentations before the election.

The Monday meeting lasted approximately one hour and 45 minutes. It included an executive session, a closed door meeting, to discuss personnel issues.

Board members tentatively set their next meeting for Thursday, Nov. 20. According to Klingelsmith, the board is considering changing its Monday evening meetings to another day.

John Bamonte and Corinna Miller did not attend the meeting. Jed Grisez left early. Attending were Helen Row, president; Diane Tinsman, Sandy Wyse and Judi Rupp.

Laura Hutchison, board clerk, also attended.
