Keith J. Lehman, Archbold, family physician since 1982 at the Archbold Medical Group, a division of Midwest Community Health Associates, has been elected president of the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians.
He was installed on Aug. 9 during the OAFP annual meeting, in Newark.
The OAFP is a statewide professional association with more than 4,400 members. Lehman has been a member for more than 26 years.
During his installation address, he challenged physicians to work at the national, state, and individual level to continue to deliver the message of primary care as the medical home, where patients receive excellent, cost-effective, appropriate, convenient, and personalized care.
Lehman received a medical degree from the Ohio State University College of Medicine. He completed his residency at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
A resident of Archbold, he serves as a staff member of Fulton County Health Center, Wauseon; courtesy staff member of Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Bryan and Archbold; medical director at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home, Archbold; and medical director of Fulton County Hospice, Wauseon.
Lehman also serves as the president of the Fulton County Board of Health, Wauseon, and is a clinical assistant professor of family medicine at Medical College of Ohio, Toledo.
In 2007, he received the annual Torchlight Leadership Achievement Award from the OAFP.
He is a member of the Archbold Rotary Club and Zion Mennonite Church. He and his wife, Jackie, have two adult children, Brent and Bethany.
