King Wins Second Straight Run For Lights Title

Darin King, a 2006 Archbold High School graduate, won the annual Run for the Lights 5K race in Archbold for the second straight year, Saturday morning, July 19.

He crossed the finish line in 17 minutes, 35 seconds.

King said he had knee surgery on May 9, but his physicians said he was ready to run.

“Coming off knee surgery, I didn’t expect to run that fast,” he said.

King runs track for Trine University, the former Tri- State University, Angola, Ind.

Audra Brown, Defiance, was the first female to cross the finish line. She ran the race in 19:45.

A total of 67 runners were registered for the event.
