Kenneth Allen Delphous, 58, of E. Main St., Fayette, died Sunday, July 8, 2012, at the St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.
He was born on Nov. 17, 1953, in Toledo, to Andrew A. and Dorothy Jean (Mininger) Delphous, and she survives.
Kenneth and his family moved to California at an early age, where he spent his youth, and later graduated from Millikan High School in Long Beach in 1971.
He also attended Long Beach City College.
Ken and his family have lived in Fayette the past 10 years. Ken was most recently employed as a purchasing clerk at Bunting Bearings in Holland, Ohio.
He was a long-time member of the Eagles in Fremont, the Hillcrest Country Club, and was a band dad for the Archbold Bluestreak Marching Band.
Ken served his community by serving a term as a village councilman for the Village of Fayette, and was a member and deacon of the Fayette Christian Church-Disciples.
Ken is remembered for his love of all sports, and he was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. In addition to being a sports fan, he also enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and collecting sports memorabilia.
He also enjoyed Civil War history.
Surviving Ken in addition to his mother, Dorothy Delphous of Fayette, are three brothers, Steven C. Delphous of Tucson, Ariz., Gary Delphous of Fayette, and Scott (Jennifer) of Fayette; and several nieces and nephews, including two special nieces, Kelly and Mary Delphous, at home.
Per Ken’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
A memorial service for Ken Delphous will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Fayette Christian Church-Disciples with Rev. Gene Sugg officiating.
