Kellen Robert Keiser, 15, of Fayette, passed away Sunday morning, Sept. 26, 2010, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, after a courageous 16- month battle with leukemia.

Kellen was born on June 25, 1995, in Bryan, to Kirk and Christina (Sallows) Keiser. He was a member of the sophomore Class of 2013 at Fayette High School and was active in FFA, baseball, basketball, golf, and band.

He was a member of Fayette United Methodist Church and was Fulton County’s 2010 Relay for Life Jr. Honorary Chair.

Kellen’s easy-going attitude and quick sense of humor blessed everyone who knew him. He lived his life without inhibition or fear.

Besides his parents, Kellen is survived by two sisters, Emilie and Zoee; grandparents, Robert and Kristine Keiser of Fayette, and Tom and Toni Sallows of Delta; one aunt, Kim (Lynn) Kinsman of Archbold; five uncles, Keith (Shanda) Keiser of Morenci, Mich., Kraig (Shannon) Keiser of Fayette, Les Sallows of Redlands, Calif., Scott (Nora) Sallows of Wauseon, and Kyle Sallows of Fayette; 14 cousins; great- grandparents, Louise Keiser of Archbold, Milton “Mick” and Barbara Schaffner of Waldron, Mich., and Virginia Colegrove of Fayette; as well as step-aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Barbara Schaffner; step-grandfather, Jon Schaffner; and greatgrandparents, Ralph Keiser, Carl and Virguwyn Sallows, and Leslie “Bus” Colegrove.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010, at 1 p.m. at Fayette High School with Pastor Katherine Currier officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Union Cemetery in Fayette.

Public visitation will take place at Fayette High School on Wednesday, from 4-8 p.m. and on Thursday, from 10 a.m. until time of the service. Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-Barrett Chapel in Fayette.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may direct memorial donations to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northwest Ohio, or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Soceity.
