Kathryn Magdelena (Rupp) Short, 100, passed into the presence of her Lord on Nov. 12, 2012, at her home in Fort Wayne, Ind.
She was born in Archbold, Ohio on April 30, 1912, to Edward and Ida (Miller) Rupp.
Kathryn graduated as salutatorian from Archbold High School in Ohio. She was certified to teach the elementary grades in 1932 and taught for a number of years.
In 1941, Kathryn graduated from Bowling Green State University with a B.S. degree in education.
She gave her life in loving Christian ministry to her beloved Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She served as a dedicated pastor’s wife and excellent mother to her children.
She modeled love and commitment as she cared for her husband, Rev. Reuben Short, who preceded her in death on Nov. 11, 2006. They were married for 66 years.
She never lost her love for God’s Word nor her devotion and commitment to her husband and family. She was dearly loved and will be missed.
Surviving are her three daughters, Karen (Bryce) Winteregg of Fort Wayne, Ind., Rhoda (Norman) Kraus of Harrisonburg, Va., and Ann (Herb) Sliger of Scottsdale,Ariz. She has two grandchildren, Dr. Mark (Leslie) Winteregg with children Luke, Lauren & Matthew and Kathy (Aaron) Sprunger with children Brandon & Jordan, all of Fort Wayne.
One brother-in-law, Dan (Betty) Short of Archbold, Ohio survives.
She was a member of the Highland Bethel Church.
Funeral service is Friday, Nov. 16 at 10 a.m., at the Highland Bethel Church, 3800 North Clinton in Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour preceding. Graveside service at 1:30 p.m. at the Pettisville Cemetery in Pettisville, Ohio.
Visitation at D.O. McComb and Sons, Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, on Thursday, Nov. 15, from 4-8 p.m. Memorials to Highland Bethel Church or Christian Service Foundation.
