Kathryn E. “Kate” Bruner, age 81, of Wauseon, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013, in her home surrounded by her family.
She was a lifelong farm wife and homemaker.
Kate was born on March 26, 1932, in Toledo, the daughter of the late George and Vida (Aufderheide) Mentzer.
On Oct. 18, 1953, she married Clarence Bruner, and he survives.
She was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church in Wauseon.
Kate had been a 4-H advisor and member of Farm Bureau Council. She was a member of the Pettisville Jewels CCL. She also enjoyed reading, baking and gardening.
Surviving are her children, Dan (Jo) Bruner, Mark (Jane) Bruner, Keith (Peg) Bruner and Janice Bruner.
Also surviving are grandchildren Jacob, Elizabeth (Jake) Mohr, Laura (Jesse) Dotterer, John (Leann), Jordon (Jenna), Sarah (Micah) Frankenfield, Joshua, Aaron, Adriane, Megan (Tim) Kauffman, Michael and Molly; and great-grandchildren Ryan and Gage Mohr and Jason Kauffman.
A brother, Robert Mentzer, and a sister, Virginia Konz, also survive.
Preceding her in death besides her parents were a sister and brother-in-law, Laura & Skip Ramsdell.
Memorial services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Christ United Methodist Church in Wauseon with Pastor Mona Sauder and Pastor Ruth Ann Scoby officiating.
Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider either Hospice of Williams and Fulton Counties or Christ United Methodist Church.
