JV Softball Goes 3-1

The Archbold junior varsity softball team opened its season Monday, March 31 when Otsego visited. Sarah Wyse pitched seven innings, giving up one run on two hits, three walks and 11 strikeouts as Archbold scored eight times for a victory.

Amy Christman had two singles; Mindy Wyse, single; Jenna Nofziger, two doubles; and Becca Short, a double.

Defiance visited Archbold, Thursday, April 3. Alexis Campos pitched four innings and gave up two runs on four hits, struck out one, and walked one in a 7-4 win. Sarah Wyse pitched the final three innings. She struck out five, walked six, and gave up one run on one hit.

Leading batters for the Streaks were Nofziger, three singles; S. Wyse and Kelsey Mosier, each with singles; and Campos with a double.

The girls traveled to Napoleon and lost 9-0, Saturday, April 5. S. Wyse pitched six innings. Mosier had a single and double; S. Wyse had a double; Nofziger and Bailey Mayer had singles.

The Streaks traveled to Swanton, Monday, April 14 and destroyed the Bulldogs 37-1 in a five-inning game. Campos pitched, giving up one run on two hits, one walk, and eight strikeouts. Leading hitters were Nofziger, two triples, double and single; S. Wyse, triple, two doubles, and a single; Campos, two-run home run, double and single.

Christman had two doubles and two singles; Mayer, three singles and a double; Alicia Drewes, three singles. Kelsey Weirauch (P), 5-6; 3. Brooke Betz (P), 5-6.
