Juveniles Cited For Bike Theft, Disorderly Conduct

Two Archbold boys were cited into juvenile court in connection with the theft of bicycles, and a third was taken into custody for disorderly conduct last week.

Martin Schmidt, Archbold Police chief, a 15-year-old Archbold boy was taken to the Northwest Ohio Juvenile Detention, Training, & Rehabilitation Center following an incident at a home in the 300 block of Storrer Street, about 5:03 pm, Friday, July 11.

Schmidt said the youth got into an argument with a parent of his girlfriend that developed into a tussle.

Police detained the youth for juvenile delinquency, by way of disorderly conduct, but prosecutors at the Fulton County Prosecutor office will make the final decision on what charge will be pursued.

In a second incident, at about 7:11 pm, Saturday, July 12, Rachel White, 14, and Dexter Sierra, 15, Archbold, told officers their bicycles had been stolen from the Archbold Swimming Pool.

Schmidt said an Archbold police officer found the bikes being ridden by two males, ages 15 and 13, at the intersection of Lincoln and Union streets.

The boys were taken into custody and taken to the Archbold police station, where they were released to the custody of their parents.

The bikes were returned to White and Sierra.
