The driver of a red Chevrolet Monte Carlo who died in a one-car accident early Thursday morning, July 5, has not been officially identified, however, funeral services for a Lyons woman have been scheduled.
Rick Yoder, Fulton County coroner, and a spokeman for the Ohio State Highway Patrol said the driver of the the driver of a red Chevrolet Monte Carlo, who’s body was found in the car, has not been identified, and the case is still under investigation. Yoder said the body was badly damaged, making identification difficult. An OSHP spokesman said they were waiting on dental records.
However, the Barner Funeral Chapel, Delta, states in an obituary, "Sandra J. Drennan, age 67, of Lyons, Oh., and Morenci, Mich., passed away unexpectedly from injuries received in an auto accident early Thursday morning, July 5, 2012."
At approximately 2:59 a.m., on Thursday, July 5, the Monte Carlo was westbound on US 20A just west of SR 66 in Fulton County. The vehicle drove off of the right side of the road, overcorrected, and drove off of the left side of the road. The vehicle then overturned, struck a tree, and caught fire.
Archbold Fire Department and EMS responded and pronounced Drennan dead at the scene.–Updated 7.9, 10:25 am
