Archbold Cross Country

The Archbold junior high cross country team competed at the Antwerp Cross Country Invitational, Saturday, Oct. 6. The boys team placed 1st, 19 points, Hicksville 2nd, 44, Antwerp, 3rd, 79, Edgerton, 4th, 96.

Adrian Ramirez won the race. Chandler Tinsman was 3rd; Ryan King, 5th; Dean Herrett, 6th; Travis Beck, 9th; Seth Yoder, 10th; Nathan Wachtmann, 12th. Running fastest times of the season: Audrey Lambright, Mason Gericke, Beck, King, Kyle Bronson, Brodie Ranzau, Devin Shannon, Herrett, Wachtmann, Hayden Muntz, Caleb Wyse, Yoder, Olley Short, and Tinsman.

Archbold Cross Country

The Archbold junior high cross country team traveled to Bryan, Tuesday, Oct. 4, for a tri-meet with Bryan and Defiance. The Archbold boys team placed second with 45 points. Bryan won with 26, and Tinora had 53. Scoring for Archbold were Adrian Ramirez, Alex Hurst, Travis Beck, Dean Herrett, and Ryan King. Ramirez again broke the school record with a time of 11 minutes, 20 seconds.

Running their best times of the season were Audrey Lambright, Devin Shannon, Nathan Wachtmann, Caleb Wyse, Seth Yoder, Travis Beck, McCaylen Croninger, and Dylan Reisser.

Pettisville Cross Country

The Pettisville junior high boys cross country team finished 15th out of 23 teams at the Fostoria Invitational, Saturday, Oct. 6.

Pettisville runners, their places and times: 15. Tanner Rufenacht, 12 minutes, 29 seconds; 46. Josh Borton, 13:08; 63. Seth Hernandez, 13:35; 114. Justen Douglass, 14:41; 190. Jon Rufenacht, 17:58.

On the girls side, Tanner Hostetler placed second out of 179 runners in 12:57. Other Pettisville runners: 99. Amber Loar, 16:12; 138. Brittany Hamilton, 17:38; 159. Annie Eicher, 19:21. Archbold 8th Grade Volleyball

The Archbold eighth grade volleyball team lost to Pettisville 13-25, 17-25, Monday, Oct. 1. “Abby Short played an outstanding match serving, with six points won on serves, and she had four spike kills,” said Dina Gladieux, coach. “Tori Williams had a block. Laura Short had five assists and one kill. Morgan Cody had one assist and a kill, as did Megan Gerig. Kayla Belknap also had a kill.”

The Streaks lost to Delta 26-24, 10-25, 18-25, Tuesday, Oct. 2. “Laura Short played a very sound game with six assists and three kills,” said Gladieux. “Gerig had four assists and one kill. Chelsea Goebel and Belknap each had a kill. Abby Short had four kills. Williams had two kills and one assist. Cody had three kills and one assist. Sami Wyse had two kills.”

Archbold dropped to 6-7 with a 25-21, 21-25, 24-26 loss at Bryan, Thursday, Oct. 4. “Williams had an outstanding serving game, winning 20 points on serves, as did Laura Short, who won 9 points on serves,” said Gladieux. “Tori also had two kills, and Laura had six kills and five assists.

“Gerig led the team in setting, with seven assists. Abby Short had five kills; Cody had four. Missed serves at crunch time severely hurt the outcome of the match.”

Pettisville Cross Country Oct. 4 BBC Jamboree At Edon

The Pettisville girls team won the Buckeye Border Conference championship. The Bird girls were victorious in all three BBC Jamborees to capture the title.

The Archbold junior high cross country team competed at the Swanton Cross Country Invitational, Monday, Oct. 1. The boys team placed second out of 12 teams. Delta won.

The top runners for Archbold were Adrian Ramirez, Alex Hurst, Dean Herrett, Ryan King, Travis Beck, Seth Yoder, and Nathan Wachtmann. Ramirez set a school record with a time of 11 minutes, 25 seconds. Justin Crites held the old two-mile record of 11:27.

Archbold 7th Grade Volleyball

The Archbold seventh grade volleyball team beat Montpelier 25-21, 25-27, 25-11, Thursday, Sept. 20. Points won on serves: Taylor Coressel 14; Jenny Lehman 8; Caroline Vonier, Rachel Brader, Darian Oberlin, Mariah Short, Kenzie Yoder, Amanda Lovejoy, 3 each; Hanna Allison 2.

The Streaks lost at Hilltop 14-25, 15-25, Monday, Sept. 24. “Hilltop served very aggressive and we had a difficult time stopping the serve,” said Coricia Meyer, coach. Points won on serves: Coressel 5; Maddie Short, Oberlin, Lehman, 2 each.

Archbold beat Liberty Center 25-20, 25-17, Tuesday, Sept. 25. Points won on serves: Mariah Short 6; Lehman, Coressel, 5 each; Oberlin, Allison, 3 each; Maddie Short, Ashley Panning, Brader, 2 each.

The Streaks won 25-21, 16-25, 28- 26 at Evergreen, Thursday, Sept. 27. Points won on serves: Lehman 8; Yoder 7; Vonier 6; Coressel, Allison, 5 each; Brader 4; Mariah Short 2; Maddie Short, Ellie Sonnenberg, Lovejoy, 1 each.

Archbold beat Pettisville 25-23, 25-16, Monday, Oct. 1. Points won on serves: Allison 9; Panning, Lehman, 8 each; Brader 3, Yoder 2.

The Streaks beat Delta 25-6, 19- 25, 25-14, Tuesday, Oct. 2. Points won on serves: Lehman, Yoder, 10 each; Coressel 8; Mariah Short 5; Brader 4; Brie Deskins 2; Panning, Oberlin, 1 each.

Archbold upped its record to 8-5 as it won at Bryan 25-20, 16-25, 25-11, Thursday, Oct. 4. Points won on serves: Coressel 10; Yoder 6; Mariah Short 5; Brader, Oberlin, Lehman, 3 each; Vonier, Maddie Short, Panning, 1 each.
