Archbold 7th Grade Girls Volleyball

Fairview defeated the Archbold seventh grade girls volleyball team 25-13, 25-15 in its season opener, Thursday, Aug. 30.

“It was obvious that it was our first game,” said Coricia Meyer, Archbold coach. “The girls looked scared out on the court. I didn’t think that we moved our feet or communicated well.

“We had a couple of good passes, which set up a nice attack. Jenny Lehman, Taylor Coressel, and Tatum Smith each had some nice serves. As a team, we need to work on being more consistent in all areas of the game.”

Points won on serves: Lehman 4; Smith 3; Coressel 2; Caroline Vonier, Maddie Short, Kenzie Yoder 1 each.

Wauseon beat the Streaks 22-25, 25- 22, 25-19, Thursday, Sept. 6.

“The girls made huge improvements from game 1 to game 2,” said Meyer. “Overall, I thought we did a much better job moving our feet and communicating on the court. As a team, we also did a much better job at keeping the serve in play.

“Coressel led all servers, scoring 13 points in game one, four in game two, and five in game three.”

Other points won on serves: Maddie Short 4; Hanna Allison and Lehman, 3 each; Mariah Short and Smith, 2 each; Tressa Parsley, Ashley Panning, Rachel Brader, 1 each.
