Jon B. Baltosser, age 77 years, of Archbold, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013.
Jon was born Jan. 1, 1936, in West Unity to Paul and Helen Baltosser.
He was a 1954 graduate of Stryker High School. Shortly after graduating he served in the United States Navy.
When returning home he worked many years on his father’s farm.
Jon was an active member of the community of Stryker. In the 1980s, Jon was president of the Stryker Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Businessman’s Association.
In 1988, Jon was named “Stryker Citizen of the Year.”
Jon was owner of Stryker Welding, Stryker, where he worked for 30 years.
On Nov. 6, 2004, Jon married Cynthia Dollarhide. Together they attended Archbold Evangelical Church, where they became members last fall.
Jon was very kind-hearted, he enjoyed the outdoors and reading the Lord’s Word.
Jon was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmom, Lena Baltosser; a brother, Rod Baltosser; a sister, Sarah Rittenhouse; and a stepson, Joshua Clay.
Surviving are brothers, Tom (Ellen) Baltosser of Michigan and Don (Bonnie) Baltosser, Bryan; a son, Jason (Laurette) Baltosser, Stryker; a daughter, Jessica (Ron) Baltosser, Montpelier; a stepdaughter, Sarah Andrews, New Mexico; a stepdaughter, Cindy (Scott) Hicks, Napoleon; stepson, Daniel Clay, Defiance; and stepdaughter, Melissa (Joe) Beilke, Defiance.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Hannah, Jordan, Elizabeth, Antuan, Scott Jr., Rebecca, and Rylan, along with many friends and family.
Services were held Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at 2:30 PM at Archbold Evangelical Church.
