Jill A. Van Deusen, age 70, of Archbold, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013, at the University of Toledo Medical Center.
Jill had served as a teacher in the mission field in Sierra Leone, West Africa, for nine years. After that she had served with Angel Tree Prison Fellowship in Washington, D.C., for two years before moving to Archbold, where she taught school at Four County Career Center and also worked at the Archbold Library. *Corrected 5-26
She was a member of the Archbold Evangelical Church.
Jill was born in Hillsdale, Mich., on March 20, 1943, the daughter of Lyle and Lousie (Moore) Van Deusen.
Surviving are three brothers, Gerald “Jerry” (Joan) Van Deusen of Marysville, Mich., Jack (Sue) Van Deusen of Prescott Valley, Ariz., the Rev. Jon (Ginger) Van Deusen of Tucson, Ariz.; many nieces and nephews; and many very special friends in the Archbold area and the Archbold Evangelical Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, James Van Deusen; and one nephew, James Van Deusen.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at the Archbold Evangelical Church, where the funeral service will immediately follow at 1 p.m., with Elder, Jerry Lugbill, officiating.
Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsdale, Mich.
The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Archbold Evangelical Church or the American Diabetes Association.
