Jesse D. Yingling, 86, passed away Friday, Sept. 10, 2010 at his residence in Edinburg, Texas.
He was born in Westminster, Md., on May 24, 1924 to Harry Leroy Yingling and Florence Ellen (Young) Yingling. On Dec. 15, 1945, Jesse married Emagene L. Coon, of Wauseon, and they shared almost 58 years together until her death in August 2003.
Jesse spent most of his married life in Archbold, where he worked as a woodworker, plumber, and was the owner of J & J Tile and Rug.
In the 1970s Jesse and Emagene served as missionaries at Grace Children’s Hospital in Port Au Prince, Haiti. On their return to the United States, they were winter- Texans, migrating from Ohio to Texas during the winter months until 1996, when they became permanent residents at the Lazy Palms Ranch in Edinburg, Texas.
Jesse is survived by two daughters, Mrs. John (Wanda J.) Sinkey, Ms. Cheryl A. Shipp; three granddaughters, Robin Flatley, Anne Sinkey, and Christine Martens; and three great-grandchildren, Destiny Van Horn, Brianna Flatley and Owen Flatley.
Memorial services will be held at the Archbold Evangelical Church at 3 pm on Sunday, Oct. 24, and in Edinburg, Texas at a later date.
