James “Jim” Richard Leupp



James "Jim" Richard Leupp, 80, of Stryker. passed away Friday April 2, 2010, in his home following an extended illness. 
Mr. Leupp, along with his brothers, owned and operated the Leupp Bros. Ford Garage and Leupp Bros. Repair in Stryker for many years.
Mr. Leupp was born on June 16, 1929, in Archbold, the son of the late John and the late Florence (Kutzli) Leupp. 
He married Estelle "Dale" Collins. and she preceded him in death. 
On Sept. 29, 1962, he married Norma (Arkwight) Strup, and she survives. 
He was a member of the St. John Christian Church in Archbold. He was a US Coast Guard veteran of the Korean War. He was also a member and past Master of the Evansport Lodge of the Free and Accepted Masons #511 and the Stryker American Legion Post #60, where he was a former Post Commander. 
Mr. Leupp was a member of the Stryker Village Council from 1972-1975 and was the mayor of Stryker from 1996-2000.
Surviving besides his wife, Norma, are two daughters, Sharon (Juris) Kangars of Norwalk, and Biz (John) Prichard of Columbia City, Ind.; two sons, Mike (Patty) Strup of Columbia City, Ind., and Joe (Kim) Strup of Stryker. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Bob (Mary) Leupp. Friend Jerry Lang of Stryker also survives. 
Preceding him in death besides his parents and first wife were brothers John and Chuck and sister Kathryn Meyer.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at the St. John Christian Church in Archbold with Pastor Erich Christman officiating. 
Interment will follow in the Archbold Cemetery, where military services will be provided by Stryker American Legion Post #60. 
Friends may call at the Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker from 2-8 p.m. on Monday where a Masonic prayer service will be held at 7:30pm. 
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to either the Community Hospitals and Wellness Center Home Health and Hospice, the Stryker American Legion Post #60, or St. John’s Christian Church.
