Ivan W. King, age 87 years, of Archbold, passed away Monday afternoon, May 6, 2013, in his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born Dec. 25, 1925, near Pettisville, a son of Clarence L. and Emma (Wyse) King, and married Shirley Graber on Nov. 25, 1948.
A lifelong resident of the Pettisville/Ridgeville Corners area, he was a dairy farmer and worked at Wyse Plumbing and Heating in Ridgeville Corners.
He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and family. He was a member of the Fulton County Dairy Association, and the West Clinton Mennonite Church near Pettisville, where he served as trustee for many years, MYF sponsor, and mentor.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; four daughters, Jane Sauder, Cheryl (Frank) Grime, Sandi (Kenny) Cowell, and Lori (Brian) Aeschliman, all of Archbold; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Alice (Gene) Waidelich of Archbold; and two sisters-in-law, Lois King and Ruth King, both of Archbold.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Andrew Stuckey; three brothers, Leonard King, Glenford King, and Marlin King; and two sisters-in-law, Bessie King and Carol King.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday at 4 p.m. at the West Clinton Mennonite Church with Revs. Jesse and Naomi Engle officiating. Interment will precede in the Pettisville Cemetery.
Friends may call at West Clinton Mennonite Church from 2-8 PM today, Wednesday.
