Irene L. Meyer, 89, died peacefully Sunday, Aug. 4, at Goshen (Ind.) Hospital with family at her side.
She was born March 4, 1930, in Archbold to Solomon and Clara (Roth) Beck.
On Oct. 29, 1950, she married Paul L. Meyer in Archbold.
Survivors include four children, Karen (David) Riegsecker, Greencastle, Pa., Linda (Melvin) Meyer-Esh, Philadelphia, Pa., Joyce (Fred) Driver, Goshen, Ind., and Timothy (Carol) Meyer, Columbus, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Doris (Roger) Short, Archbold, and Richard (Twila) Beck, Hicksville.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Beulah Armstrong, Betty Richer, Ilva Bontrager and Edwin Beck.
A homemaker, Irene was an active member of both Inlet Mennonite and East Goshen Mennonite churches. She attended Pettisville High School.
Visitation will be Sunday, Aug. 18, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, 1909 S. Main Street, Goshen, Ind. A 10 a.m., Monday, Aug. 19, memorial service will be held at East Goshen Mennonite Church, 17861 State Road 4, Goshen, Ind.
A private burial will be held at a later date in Pettisville Cemetery, Pettisville.
Memorial donations may be given to Mennonite Central Committee or Greencroft Goshen Foundation.
