When a man attempted to use a credit card in Archbold recently, the store clerk discovered it was reported as stolen.
The incident occurred about 3:30 pm, Thursday, Sept. 21 at the Circle K store.
A store official told police a subject tried to make a $9.04 purchase with the card, but when the card was run through the store card reader, it came back as stolen.
When the clerk asked the man for identification, he threw the card at the clerk, saying it was his wife’s. He then threw cash at the clerk to cover the purchase and walked out of the store, leaving the card behind.
Police took the card to investigate. The investigation is pending.
