Investigate Overdose

After Archbold police assisted a subject suffering a drug overdose in their parking lot, they are now investigating the case for possible criminal charges.

The police report on the incident states an officer was on patrol, heading east on East Lutz Road, about 11:27 am, Saturday, June 9, when the driver of a westbound car flagged him down.

The officer wrote that as he was turning around, the car drove into the Archbold Police Department parking lot. The driver ran into the street to meet the officer.

“She reported the passenger in her vehicle was not breathing,” the report states.

“Medic units arrived responded to the scene and were able to assist the passenger, who was transported to FCHC (Fulton County Health Center) by ambulance.”

Tera Rogers, an officer, said the victim survived.

Police searched the car and found what they described as drug paraphernalia– items included a black bag with needle caps, a spoon, and other items.

Whether or not charges will be filed against the victim will depend on the results of the investigation, Rogers said.

The driver will not be charged.
