Industry Group Honors Arrow Tru-Line In Vegas

The International Door Association honored Arrow Tru- Line, Archbold, with the Member of the Year award.

Officials from Arrow Tru- Line received the award at the assocation’s 2008 expo in Las Vegas, Nev., in May.

The company, headquartered in Archbold with a plant in Bryan, plus locations in Texas, Nevada, and Canada, employs about 250 workers. Paul McManus, director of strategic sales and marketing, said about 200 of the workers are employed in Ohio.

A press release states Arrow Tru-Line was honored for “its continued excellence in the running of a manufacturing facility, for significant contribution to the International Door Association, for overall industry and product innovations, and for displaying exceptional traits of honesty, integrity, and quality.”

Arrow Tru-Line manufactures metal components for overhead garage doors, such as tracks, rollers, springs, hinges, and other hardware. The parts are distributed in North America and throughout the world.

The company got its start in 1970, when Al Marko, Archbold, started manufacturing in a rented building. His first products were floor joists and garage door tracks and struts, but soon, the garage door business became the primary focus.

In 1976, the company moved to its present location near the intersection of South Defiance Street and Co. Rd. A. That building has been added on several times.

Dave Shaffer, Arrow Tru- Line president, said, “It’s nice to know that other IDA members, our industry peers, and our customers feel the same way about ATL as we do.”
