Collections from the Archbold municipal income tax were up in April, but are still off on a year-to-date basis.
During the Monday, May 15 village council meeting, council members learned total gross collections for April were $649,064.78, up $11,776.92, or about 1.85%, over the same month in 2016.
Tax collections for 2016 set a new record in gross collections.
When compared with the same first four months of 2016, the 2017 collection is down by $321,904.33, or about 15.35%.
Collections in 2017 started out with a roar. The January 2017 collection was more than $450,000, almost 105% more than January 2016.
But February and March collections were off by almost 57% and 22.5%, respectively, when compared to 2016.
Donna Dettling, village administrator, said she hoped the May figures will improve.
