Hundreds Attend Rally On The Ridge

Cheryl Bostelman, cochairman of the Ridgeville Community Day committee, estimated as many as 700 people attended the Rally on the Ridge, Saturday, Aug. 7.

“We had food for 600, and we sold it all. There were some people who were there who didn’t eat,” Bostelman said, explaining her crowd estimate.

Final bills have not been paid, but she estimated the event will clear about $5,000.

Part of the money that was raised will go toward sidewalk replacement in Ridgeville’s downtown; another part will be used to replace broken Christmas decorations.

Money from the cornhole tournament will go to the community park district.

The Community Day has been an every-other-year event, but Bostelman said the committee has received requests to make it every year.

The committee will get together and discuss the request in a week or two, she said.
