Human Resource Association Led By Rupp Receives Award

The Toledo Area Human Resource Association, led by a volunteer board of 20 human resource professionals including Benét (Lauber) Rupp, formerly of Archbold, recently received the 2007 Pinnacle Award.

The award is presented by the Society for Human Resource Management. It is for excellence in chapter, professional, and membership activities.

“I can’t say enough about the teamwork and commitment put forth by our board and membership to assist persons with disabilities in securing employment in Northwest Ohio,” said Rupp, TAHRA president.

“The true reward is hearing that multiple people secured employment, and receiving feedback that our program made a difference in the lives of others and the communities we serve.”

Only eight out of more than 575 SHRM chapters nationwide received the award in 2007.

The Toledo association received the award because of its program, “Extreme Makeover, Workforce Edition,” in which it teamed with Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission. TAHRA members assisted ORSC clients and job developers with resume writing, mock interviewing, and job search techniques, culminating in a job fair.

A 1984 Archbold High School graduate, Rupp is the daughter of Ed and Bonnie Lauber, Archbold. She and her husband, Joel, son of Greg Rupp, Pettisville, live in Monclova Township, near Toledo.
