Hornish 32nd At Texas

Sam Hornish, Jr. finished 32nd in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stock car race, Sunday, April 6 at Fort Worth, Texas.

The race was run at the 1.5- mile quad-oval Texas Motor Speedway.

The Archbold High School graduate and Indianapolis 500 winner started the race in 17th position.

Hornish pitted on lap 28 as the first caution flag came out. When he reentered the race he was in 21st place.

After a pit stop on lap 81, Hornish was 31st, one lap down from the leader, and remained 31st at the midpoint.

An “on-track skirmish” between Hornish, driving the No. 77 car, and the No. 44 car driven by David Reutimann, resulted in damage to the right-front fender of Hornish’s car.

Hornish pitted when a caution flag came out on lap 175. His team continued to work on the car throughout the rest of the race.

Hornish is 34th in the driver points standings and his team is 34th in the owner points standings.

Hornish heads to Phoenix International Raceway, Saturday, April 12 for the first night race of the season.- Information courtesy
