Everyone who gets their water from the city of Toledo, including homeowners in eastern Fulton County, found themselves in an almost unimaginable situation over the weekend– no drinkable water.
But when Toledo found itself in a jam, neighbors from near and far, including Archbold, pitched in to help.
The Archbold Fire Department, along with others from Fulton County, sent water tankers to the city to haul safe water from Olander Park in Sylvania, to where it was needed. Friends and relatives in Archbold provided drinkable water to those without. Local supplies of bottled water were bought up, mostly to help those in the city. Some Toledo residents even came here and stayed in area hotels.
As Archbold and Fulton County citizens often do, they saw people in need, and answered the call.
The spirit of rushing to help is something of which we can all be proud.
