High temperatures and no air conditioning in classrooms sent Pettisville School District students home early Tuesday, Aug. 31, and Wednesday, Sept. 1.
Chris Lee, school district treasurer, said some secondfl oor high school classrooms exceeded 90 degrees.
Lee said part of the heat problem comes from the vocational agriculture greenhouse on the east side of the high school building.
“It reflects all the heat right into (the second-story classroom) windows,” he said.
Plus, the second story is always hot in hot weather.
