Heart Health Run, Walk Results

The Bridging The Gap To Heart Health running and walking event was Saturday, Oct. 6, in and around the Lockport Bridge and Goll Woods area.

The event featured 5- and 10- kilometer runs and a 5-kilometer walk. It was presented by the boards of health of Fulton, Henry, and Williams counties, with funding from a joint cardiovascular health grant.

Rachel Kinsman, cardiovascular health coordinator for the Fulton County Health Department, said the goal is to promote physical activity and heart health.

She said several racers reported their times were off their personal bests, because of heat and humidity.

Winners are (note: no hometowns available):

Men’s 5K run: Glenn Nofziger, 20 minutes, 19 seconds. Women’s 5K run: Ashlyn Purk, age 14, 23:49. Men’s 10K run: Jason Perez, 48:07. Women’s 10K run: Joan Mathews: 45:20. Women’s 5K walk: Jo Gleckler, 39:24. Men’s 5K walk: Dave Gordon, 39.25.
