Harriet Irene (Detter) Hoblet passed away early in the morning, July 17, 2010, after enjoying a morning meal with friends at Fairlawn Haven in Archbold.
Harriet was born on Feb. 13, 1924, to Katherine and Frank Detter, Willshire, Ohio. She married Donald L. Hoblet on Nov. 17, 1944, and they had three children, Vaughn (Karen), Kathy Turnipseed, Connie (Andy) Haeuptle.
Harriet had a full and active life up until her death. She worked as a secretary at Zone School where her husband Donald was principal.
She then worked in the accounting department at Four County Joint Vocational School in Archbold, until her retirement.
Her favorite thing to do was to spend as much time as she could with friends and family, relishing every reunion, graduation, birthday, wedding, and holiday.
She especially loved every minute she could spend with her five grandsons, Vaughn Allan, Douglas, Jeffrey, Nicholas, and Donnie.
Harriet and Donald traveled extensively throughout the United States and planned time away from home around family functions.
Harriet loved animals and her church. She was a active member of and participant at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in Archbold.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by husband, Donald; her brothers, Roland, Miles, Delmas, Franklin, and Lowell; her sisters, Mary and Kathleen.
A viewing will be held at Grisier Funeral Home, 303 Stryker St., Archbold, on Tuesday evening, July 20, 2010, from 6-7:30 p.m. and a funeral service at 10 a.m. on July 21, 2010.
Interment will be July 21, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. at the Willshire Cemetery.–Posted 7.18, 2:44 pm
