Guest Speakers Memorial Day:

Archbold, Pettisville, Ridgeville Corners


Tanya Biank, wife of Michael Marti, a United States Army lieutenant colonel and 1985 Archbold High School graduate, will be the speaker at the Archbold Memorial Day service, Monday, May 26.

She is the author of Army Wives; The Unwritten Code of Military Marriage. Her book is the basis for a television series on a cable network.

She has served as a journalist covering the military and is a syndicated columnist.

The program starts at 9:30 am at the Archbold Knights of Columbus Rebeau Hall.

The Archbold High School band will also perform.

Pettisville

Memorial Day services at Pettisville start at 9:45 a.m., with an assembly at the Pettisville Park followed by a 10 am parade to the Pettisville Cemetery.

The speaker is Jeffrey A. Kruse, United States Air Force lieutenant colonel.

Kruse is a career USAF intelligence officer and Pettisville High School graduate.

The Pettisville High School Band will also perform. A potluck at the Pettisville Park follows.

Services will be moved to the Pettisville School in case of bad weather.

Ridgeville

Ridgeville Corners will hold a Memorial Day service at 10:30 am at the Ridgeville Legion Hall.

A pilot from the Ohio Air National Guard 180th Tactical Fighter Wing, Steven Nordhaus, lieutenant colonel, will be the speaker.

The 180th is based at the Toledo Express Airport.

The Archbold High School Band and the Ridgeville Community Choir will perform.

A flyover takes place at 11:45 am.

Area children are welcome to participate in a flag drill, with a practice on Thursday, May 22, 7 pm, at the Legion Hall.

Following the service, everyone is welcome to a potluck dinner.
