Grand Jury Indicts Archbold Man



Anthony G. Spangler, 23, Archbold, has been indicted by the Fulton County Grand Jury on a single count of felony domestic violence.

The grand jury met on Monday, Oct. 27. Indictments were handed down against Spangler and 22 others.

The indictment against Spangler resulted from an incident Sunday, Sept. 28, when Spangler and Brianna M. Jasso, 22, were at the apartment the two shared in the East Garden complex.

Martin Schmidt, Archbold police chief, said officers were called to the apartment about 3:18 am, where Spangler allegedly struck Jasso after an argument.

Spangler was placed under arrest and taken to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio. He was later released on his own recognizance.

Roger Nagel, Fulton County prosecuting attorney, states the indictment against Spangler specifies, "on Sept. 28, he caused or attempted to cause physical harm to a household or family member. It is alleged Spangler was previously convicted of domestic violence in 2007."

Others indicted:

•Russell Dopp, 42, Wauseon; indicted one count importuning, two counts gross sexual imposition; allegedly between June 20, 1992 and July 20, 1994, solicited another who was under 13 years old to engage in sexual activity; during this same time frame, it is alleged he had sexual contact with another who was under 13; between June 1, 2005, and Aug. 15, 2005, it is alleged Dopp had sexual contact with another who was under 13 years old; case being prosecuted by Morris Murray, special prosecuting attorney, Defiance County.

•Brian M. Lilly, 29, Delta; indicted on one count rape, one count sexual battery, two counts gross sexual imposition; allegedly between Jan. 1 and Oct. 23, he engaged in sexual conduct and sexual contact with another who is less than 13 years old.

•Jennifer I. Andrews, 26, Swanton, indicted on one count disseminating matter harmful to juveniles, one count sexual imposition; allegedly between Sept. 13 and 14, she presented to a juvenile a material or performance that is obscene, and engaged in sexual contact with a person between the ages of 13 and 16.

•David Allen Gillen, 45, Delta; indicted on one count domestic violence; allegedly, on Oct. 26, caused or attempted to cause physical harm to a family or household member; he was allegedly previously convicted of domestic violence in 2006.

•Rusty D. Robertson; 25, Swanton; indicted on one each count burglary and domestic violence; allegedly on Oct. 21, he had an altercation with a family member and fled the scene to the neighbors, where he broke into the residence.

•Brandon D. Minck, 20, Napoleon; indicted on one count each having weapons while under disability, aggravated menacing; allegedly on Oct. 11, he was in possession of a firearm, and threatened to cause serious physical harm to another; allegedly, Minck has a prior conviction for aggravated assault, which prevents him from possessing a firearm.

•Michelle Joan Howald, 33, Swanton, indicted on one count theft of drugs; allegedly on Oct. 9, she stole Oxycodone tablets and liquid morphine.

•Scott Alan Marckel, 45, Temperance, Mich.; indicted on one count of grand theft; allegedly stole scrap metal and related items valued at more than $5,000 but less than $100,000.

•James Chambers Cayce, 36, Temperance, Mich., indicted on one count breaking and entering; allegedly on July 18, 2007, broke into a home with the intent to commit a theft offense.

•Clarence M. Burger II, 31, Adrian, Mich., was indicted on one each count grand theft, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle; allegedly between Aug. 8 and 9, he exerted control over the vehicle beyond the scope of the express or implied consent of the owner.

•Anthony Ray Howey, 33, Gladwin, Mich.; indicted on one count theft; allegedly on Sept. 8, stole property valued at more than $500 but less than $5,000.

•Morgan Bedard, 30, Rosebush, Mich.; indicted on one count theft; allegedly on Sept. 8, stole property valued at more than $500 but less than $5,000.

•Tasha McGuire, 19, Wauseon; indicted on one count theft; allegedly on Sept. 14, she stole lottery tickets valued at more than $500 but less than $5,000.

•Stacey L. Maness, 22, Wauseon; indicted on one count theft; allegedly on Sept. 14, she stole lottery tickets valued at more than $500 but less than $5,000.

•Chad R. Schmieder, 28, Toledo; indicted on one count theft; allegedly on Sept. 22, stole property valued at more than $500 but less than $5,000.

•Joseph Lloyd Johnson, 22, Lyons; indicted on one count each complicity to commit theft, forgery; allegedly on June 16, aided Joshua Gallup in stealing a blank check and cashing it with a forged signature.

•Benjamin C. Tinsler, 21, Toledo; indicted on one count theft; allegedly on Sept. 1, he stole a credit card.

•Jamie Dean, 28, Okolona; indicted on one count, passing bad checks; allegedly between April 18 and May 1, he wrote a series of checks to an Archbold discount store totaling $520.75, knowing the checks would not be honored.

•Roger E. Sherman, 24, Morenci, Mich., indicted on one count each forgery, receiving stolen property; allegedly on Sept. 20, he attempted to cash a forged check stolen from his parents.

•Sada Pedro Juares, 32, Napoleon; indicted on one count each, identity fraud, forgery; allegedly on Sept. 25, he used a social security number that did not belong to him to obtain employment and benefits; in addition, Juares has an immigration detainer action pending.

•Tomas Ramos III, 22, Wauseon; indicted on one count each receiving stolen property, criminal damaging; allegedly on Sept. 20, he was in possession of a stolen all-terrain vehicle.

•Keirre D. Blackmon, 18, Toledo, indicted on one count receiving stolen property; allegedly on Aug. 12, he was in possession of property reported stolen from a Swanton residence.
