Grand Jury Indicts 21



The Fulton County Grand Jury handed down indictments against 21 individuals, Monday, Aug. 18.

Four men with Archbold addresses, and one who had previously lived in the village, were among those indicted. Charges against them are detailed elsewhere in this newspaper.

Among those indicted was Rebecca S. Yarberry, 20, Toledo.

The grand jury handed down a single-count indictment against her, charging her with failure to stop after an accident.

In a press release announcing the indictments, Scott Haselman, Fulton County prosecuting attorney, said, “On or about April 9, (Yarberry) allegedly failed to notify police concerning the location of an accident she had knowledge of and allegedly failed to remain at the scene of the accident until police arrived.”

An Ohio State Highway Patrol report on the crash states at about 8:35 pm on the night in question, Yarberry was driving a car north on North Main Street in Swanton when she struck Haylee Michelle Brandt, 30, Swanton, who was walking along the road, which is also St. Rt. 64.

Brandt died as the result of her injuries.

Others indicted:

• Santisouk Champada, 25, Montpelier; indicted on one count each, retaliation, carrying concealed weapons; on or about July 8, he allegedly, by force or unlawful threat of harm, retaliated against a public servant, party official, attorney or witness; also allegedly concealed a deadly weapon other than a handgun.

•Simon T. Champada, 25, Swanton; indicted on one count, retaliation; on or about July 8, allegedly by force or unlawful threat of harm, retaliated against a public servant, party official, attorney or witness.

•Richard H. Rodriguez, Jr., 23, Toledo; indicted on one count, of grand theft of a motor vehicle; allegedly stole a motor vehicle on July 12.

•Crystal G. Wright, 55, Delta; indicted on one count, misuse of credit cards; on or about May 12-June 14, allegedly obtained property by using the credit card of an elderly person or disabled adult, known or having reasonable cause to believe it was being used in violation of law.

•Keith D. Cook II, 24, Delta; indicted on one count each, theft, misuse of credit cards, identity fraud; on or about June 18-July 2, allegedly stole a credit card and obtained property by using one or more credit cards, knowing or having reasonable cause to believe that the cards were being used in violation of law; property obtained was allegedly valued at $1,000 or more but less than $7,500; also allegedly used the personal identifying information of another without their consent and the value of the credit, property or services involved is more than $1,000 but less than $7,500.

•Felipe Garcia, Jr., 29, Wauseon; indicted on one count each, attempted rape, trespass in a habitation when a person is present or likely to be present; on or about Aug. 1, allegedly attempted to engage in sexual conduct with another by compelling the other person to submit by force or threat of force; allegedly trespassed in the habitation of another person when that person was present or likely to be present.

•Alvin Zayas, 43, Cleveland; indicted on eight counts, non-support of dependents; on or about Aug. 15, 2010, to Aug. 9, 2014, allegedly failed to provide child support totaling $17,270.24.

•Jason Sell, 36, Wauseon; indicted on eight counts, non-support of dependents; on or about Aug. 21, 2011, to March 10, 2012, and Jan. 20, 2013, to Aug. 2, 2014, allegedly failed to provide child support totaling $11,709.36.

•Caleb E. Bell, 23, Sherwood; indicted on one count each, illegal manufacture of drugs, illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs; on or about Dec. 1 2013, to Jan 15, 2014, he allegedly manufactured methamphetamine.

•Philip B. Snider, 24, Cecil; indicted on one count each, illegal manufacture of drugs, illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs; on or about Dec. 1 2013, to Jan 25, 2014, he allegedly manufactured methamphetamine.

•Carlos J. Avina, 28, Wauseon; indicted on one count each, possession of heroin, trafficking in cocaine, tampering with evidence; on or about Aug. 6, allegedly sold or offered to sell heroin; allegedly tampered with evidence in an official proceeding or investigation.

•Erica J. Gomez, 26, Wauseon; indicted on one count, possession of heroin; on or about Aug. 6, allegedly possessed heroin.

•Tyler J. Smith, 24, Montpelier; indicted on one count, robbery; on or about Aug. 5, allegedly, in attempting or committing a theft offense, recklessly used or threatened the immediate use of force against another.

•George C. Bail II, 35, Montpelier; indicted on one count, possession of cocaine; on or about May 21, allegedly possessed cocaine.

•Gregory J. Goldsmith, 25, Wauseon; indicted on one count, possession of heroin; on or about Aug. 11, allegedly possessed heroin.
