Grand Jury Indicts 16 During June 20 Session



The Fulton County Grand Jury returned indictments against 16 people during its Monday, June 20 meeting.

The crimes charged were committed in Fulton County, said Scott Haselman, Fulton County prosecuting attorney.

Those indicted:

•Jeffrey S. Boda, 31, Swanton; indicted on one count, domestic violence; on or about May 15, allegedly caused or attempted to cause physical harm to a family or household member, having previously been convicted of domestic violence.

•Derek T. Hazel, 28, Swanton; indicted on two counts, aggravated possession of drugs; on or about April 15, allegedly possessed drugs.

•Shawn M. Leininger, 22, Swanton; indicted on three counts, theft, 12 counts, forgery; on or about March 4-May 10, allegedly stole jewelry and blank checks; allegedly forged 12 blank checks.

•Frank J. Rice III, 33, Bryan; indicted on one count each, theft, engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity; on or about May 15-24, allegedly stole property valued at more than $1,000 but less than $7,500; allegedly participated in an enterprise through a pattern of corrupt activity.

•Alexandria D. Lee, 18, Wauseon; indicted on one count, possession of cocaine; on or about April 13, allegedly possessed cocaine.

•Jason G. Huntley, 44, Lyons; indicted on one count each, misuse of credit cards, theft from a person in a protected class; on or about March 28-April 14, allegedly stole cash valued at more than $1,000 but less than $7,500 from an elderly person; allegedly used an elderly person’s credit card without permission to purchase property valued at more than $1,000 but less than $7,500.

•Brad E. Smith, 31, Swanton; indicted on one count each, burglary, trespass in a habitation when a person is present or likely to be present, criminal damaging or endangering; on or about June 7, allegedly trespassed in an occupied structure with purpose to commit a criminal offense, and allegedly caused or created a substantial risk of physical harm to the property of another.

•Kevin A. McFarland, 24, Swanton; indicted on one count, aggravated possession of drugs; on or about May 7, allegedly possessed drugs.

•Rita A. Thie, 60, Swanton; indicted on one count each, passing bad checks, grand theft, theft; on or about Oct. 10- Nov. 30, 2015, allegedly stole cash and allegedly wrote a check for $7,500 or more but less than $150,000, knowing it would be dishonored.

•Selina A. Galloway, 20; Diamond U. Darrington, 26; Ataisia D. Hollis, 20, and Darquasia L. Henson, 22, all of Toledo; each indicted on one count each, receiving stolen property, possessing criminal tools; on or about March 25, allegedly received property valued at more than $1,000 but less than $7,500, knowing or having reasonable cause to believe that the property had been stolen; allegedly possessed instruments to use in the commission of a felony criminal offense.

•Matthew A. Maras, 31, Toledo; indicted on one count each, grand theft, having weapons while under disability; on or about May 7, allegedly stole a firearm, allegedly possessed a firearm when he was not relieved from disability after having previously been convicted of a felony offense.

•Kenneth A. Thatcher, 29, Delta; indicted on one count, aggravated possession of drugs; on or about Oct. 11, 2015, allegedly possessed the prescription painkiller Oxycodone.

•Amy L. Powers, 42, Fayette; indicted on five counts, worker compensation fraud; on or about Jan. 1-June 30, 2015, allegedly failed to maintain workers compensation coverage as required; value of unpaid premiums allegedly totaled more than $7,500, but less than $150,000.
