Good Things Are Happening

After more than a year of suffering through the Coronavirus pandemic, good things are happening locally.

For example, the Archbold baseball team is going to state, and members of the AHS track teams competed at state last weekend. That’s certainly good news!

Circle K convenience stores will build a new store downtown this year. It won’t be a cookie-cutter building; the company worked with village officials to customize the building so it fits with our community.

An artist is busy working on the downtown mural we’ve been talking about for years.

The village income tax– the money village officials collect to fund capital projects– had a big month in terms of collections. Not only does this mean we can do more capital projects, it’s an indication that the local economy is doing well– and that’s definitely good news.

The fundraising effort to pay for a new splash pad continues to meet with success. The seemingly-insurmountable goal is looking within reach.

The Coronavirus, which hit us all so hard, seems to be losing its grip, and that is some of the best news ever.

Yes, there is bad news, but remember, there’s good news as well!
