Gladys Nofziger

Gladys Mabel (Schrock) Nofziger of Napoleon, formerly of Wauseon, passed away at Northcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Napoleon on Oct. 5, 2018, at the age of 93.

She was born March 30, 1925, in Bay City, Mich. She was the daughter of Serenus and Melinda (Ropp) Schrock.

Gladys was married to Wayne E. Nofziger on Aug. 8, 1948, and he preceded her in death in 1982. She was also preceded in death by a son, Calvin Nofziger; two greatgrandchildren; two sisters, Verda Rupp and Ilva Stuckey; and a brother, Donald Schrock.

Gladys raised turkeys for Archbold Elevator and quilted professionally for many years.

Surviving are children Connie

Watson of Fostoria, Marcille (Michael) Eash of Canton, Arlynn Nofziger of Ocee, Fla., and Beverly (James) Griteman of Napoleon; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sisters Annabelle Rupp and Mary Rogoff; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018, at 11 a.m. at North Clinton Church, 831 W. Linfoot St., Wauseon, where Gladys was a charter member. Interment followed at Pettisville Cemetery.

The family requests memorial donations be made to North Clinton Church, or an organization of the donor’s choice.
