German Township Asking For Fire Truck Levy

Breaking News

The German Township Trustees will hold two special meetings Wednesday night, Jan. 26, at 7 and 7:20 pm, to approve a new property tax levy to purchase new fire truck.

The Archbold Fire Department is seeking to replace a 30-year-old pumper truck with a new purpose-built pumper. The new truck will be built from the ground up as a fire truck, but will be a standard design, as opposed to a built-to-specifications fire truck.

Bruce Lauber, president of the German Township Trustees, said the trustees will ask voters for $460,000 for the new truck. He did not know how many mills would be required to generate that amount of money.
Both special meetings will be held at the German Township garage, at the intersection of St. Rts. 2 and 66 north of Archbold.–Posted 1.25, 10:52 am
