Gene A. Frey, Las Vegas, Nev., went to his redeemer, Aug. 2, 2013, surrounded by his daughter at Nathan Adelson Hospice Center, Las Vegas, Nev., following a brief stay at Sunrise Hospital, Las Vegas, Nev.
He was born May 12, 1946, in Wauseon to A. Dale and Kathryn (Amstutz) Frey of Archbold.
Gene was blessed with four daughters, Jeanine (Frey) Ordway, Albuquerque, N.M., Jennifer (Frey) ( Bryan) Brewer, Parker, Colo., Jessica (Frey) Kessinger, Youngtown, Ariz., and Julie (Frey) Martinez, Albuquerque, N.M., and 12 grandchildren.
Also surviving Gene are two brothers, David L. Frey, Minneapolis, Minn., Randall S. (Heidi) Frey, Schaumburg, Ill., and two nieces, Stephanie Frey of Bowling Green, and Emma Frey of Schaumburg, Ill.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale William (Billy) Frey and Steven R. Frey and his parents Dale and Kathryn.
Gene was a member of Zion Mennonite Church of Archbold and served in 1-W service in Colorado.
Gene loved electronics and was often seen fixing ham radios. He loved the outdoors, mostly throughout the Western United States: El Paso, Texas, California, Colorado, New Mexico, and Nevada.
