Fulton County Senior Center Expands Meal Service In Archbold

Sheri Rychener, director of the Fulton County Senior Center, said meal service for seniors in Archbold is being expanded from two to five days a week.

Senior centers across Ohio were closed in early March by the order of Mike DeWine, Ohio governor, to stem the spread of the Coronavirus.

On Monday, May 11, Rychener said meals will be available on a drive-thru, pickup basis on the usual days.

For the Archbold satellite center at the Archbold Scout Cabin, that’s Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Starting Monday, May 18, Rychener said meals will be available for pickup every weekday, Monday-Friday, at 12 noon at the Archbold Scout Cabin. Reservations are required.

Rychener said on Monday, March 23, senior centers were closed, ending dine-in meal service at the centers, including satellite centers like Archbold.

But as the economy restarts and family members go back to work, there will be more of a need for meals for seniors. Any Fulton County resident over the age of 60 is eligible for meals from the senior center for a suggested $2 donation.
